Vehicle Maintenance – Do Not Neglect Your Car This Summer.

Summer months are tough on your car’s exterior. The Summer heat can impact the internal parts and systems of your vehicle as well. In fact, vehicle maintenance during summer months is crucial as the hot weather can turn small, unseen weaknesses such as cracked hoses, leaky radiators, underinflated tires and dirty filters in your car into major failures. A bigger motivation could be high gas prices. Regular servicing and oil changes can improve your fuel efficiency, and help you save some big money. Improved AC performance can elevate your vacation or regular travel experience. Simple tune-up, before hitting the road, can make all the difference.

Oil changes are an important aspect of regular vehicle maintenance. It can prevent the friction generated by moving engine parts of your car. Without sufficient amount of oil the heat generated by motion and friction can melt the metallic parts of the engine. The hot weather can only add to the problem. Normal wear and tear caused by regular use can lower the quality of the oil in your car. Most experts, therefore, recommend an oil change after every 3 months or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first. Some recent models also have indicators to remind you about the oil change. It is also important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions in the owner’s manual about the type of oil and other specifications.

Like your engine, your AC also generates a lot of heat as it works hard to cool down the interior of your car. The overuse of AC during summer months demands regular tune-up. However, recent surveys have indicated that 55 percent of car owners do not consider AC tune-ups as part of their regular vehicle maintenance. Not surprisingly, over half of the drivers express dissatisfaction with their AC performance. Fluid and lubricant replacement of the AC is the simplest and best thing you can do for your car, next to oil changes. This will help you avoid expensive overheads at a later time.

Your car is one of your biggest investments. It is a necessity in the modern world. Many car owners are obsessed with the external appearance of their vehicle. While it is important for the prolonged life of your vehicle, internal tune-ups such as oil changes and AC performance services are crucial aspects of your vehicle maintenance as well. Do not neglect them during summer months. As they say, “a stitch in time saves nine.” If you are a resident of Boise, Idaho or the Treasure Valley you can visit Bruneel Tire Factory for all your summer vehicle maintenance needs. Proper Car Maintenance is Important for All Cars

Drivers take good care of the outside of their car by washing, waxing and detailing it to make it look good, but they also need to consider taking care of what’s under the hood and the tires that make helps move it from point A to point B. Whether your car is brand new or one that you have driven for many years, your vehicle still requires proper care and maintenance to keep it running properly. There are several things that you can do, and if you are need of help, your local Bruneel Tire Factory can assist you with questions, oil changes as well as any other types of maintenance.

A car needs routine oil changes as recommended by the manufacturer to keep it running smoothly, but you should also check oil levels in between changes as well. If the oil levels are low or it is black, this can be a sign of a problem with the engine. Engine oil should have a yellow, clear tone, as this is the sign of a healthy, well-maintained engine. Checking the coolant periodically is also recommended, it too, should be clear. The coolant may be red or green, but you should be able to see through it. It should not be thick. There are several Bruneel Tire Factory locations in Boise that can help by checking fluids as well as tire pressure.

Tire maintenance is another important aspect in keeping a car running smoothly. Some tire maintenance you can do on your own, but other more intensive tire maintenance requires a professional. You can check the tire pressure once a month and check the tires periodically for signs of damage and check the tread, using the penny method, which is sticking penny in the groove of the tread and see if it obstructs Lincoln’s head. However, any vibrations, wobbling or alignment issues require the assistance of a professional.

Proper maintenance is essential for all cars, no matter the age. A car will last longer, give you better fuel efficiency and many years of safe driving if you periodically check the engine and tires to make sure everything is as it should be. However, if there are ever any problems or you have any questions it is best to leave the major problems and repairs to the professional mechanics at Bruneel Tire Factory. With proper care, your car will more reliable and safer for you and your family.

Bruneel Tire Factory's Services and Discounts

Since the 1960s, Frank Bruneel and his son Craig have managed Bruneel Tire Factory, where the family business has provided Boise residents with quality car maintenance, affordable pricing, and preferred warranties. In addition to selling high-quality tires, Bruneel Tire Factory offers several maintenance and repair services, including repairing brakes and replacing shocks and struts every 50,000 miles before control of the car deteriorates. The company also checks and adjusts the alignment of your car to prevent extremely worn tires or a damaged steering system. Bruneel Tire Factory provides car maintenance services as well, such as a full oil change, tire rotation, and transmission, power steering, and radiator flushes. Read More

Radiator flushing helps the engine from overheating. The shop recommends getting one about every two years or 30, 000 miles, whichever occurs first. If you wait too long between flushes, the fluids inside the radiator become dirty and corroded and the engine may blow gaskets or overheat unexpectedly. The radiator flush flushes old antifreeze and other sludge out of the system, as well as removes rust and scale deposits which could cause overheating. By adding new coolant, it lubricates the water pump, which extends the life of the water pump. The shop will thoroughly inspect your cooling system to make sure that your system does not have any leaks.

Bruneel Tire Factory sells tires for all seasons, trucks, and winter use. The Radar RPX900 uses a lower-rolling resistance compound and belt package to create a high-performance, eco-friendly tire. The tire uses a triple tread pattern with a larger rubber to void ratio set, which replaces many OEM fitments in other high performance vehicles. The Mastercraft HTR has a 60,000 miles limited warranty and offers all-season traction. It features offset shoulder slots, which increase traction while offering a smooth ride and high sipe density to assist with winter driving on snow and ice and wet traction.

Right now, Bruneel Tire Factory is featuring a variety of specials. It is offering a Radiator Flush for $79.95, which includes flushing and refilling the system with up to 2 gallons of antifreeze, checking water pump, hoses and clamps and looking at the heater operation. Bruneel Tire Factory also is offering $10 off of Lube, Oil, and Filter, which includes up to five quarts of oil and a new filter. It also features discounts on tires, including the Radar RPX All Season High Performance tire, starting at $59.95, or the DUNLOP Tires Rover A/T All Season Light Truck, starting at $149.99. All specials expire on February 12, 2012.

If your car isn't ready for this, you're going to be in for a rough winter season. Bruneel Tire Factory can help you get ready for the winter. It might be worth it to get new tires before the winter season gets here in full force.

In addition to tires with better traction, Bruneel Tire Factory in Boise also has a great selection of car batteries in stock. We know how important batteries are when the temperature drops, and no one wants to be stranded in freezing temperatures with a car that won't start. Getting your battery checked is one of those things that people tend to put off, until they go outside in the middle of January and the car won't turn over. Preventive maintenance goes a long way to keeping your car on the road in the winter.

Routine maintenance like oil changes shouldn't be neglected either. It actually is in your best interest to get minor maintenance like that done now, before the snow hits. When it gets cold outside, people are more apt to stay indoors as much as possible, and who wants to head out to get an oil change. Bruneel Tire Factory performs oil changes too, so while you're here getting the tires you need for your car, get the oil change you've probably been putting off for a while. Doing it now means that you won't be scheduled for another one until the spring.

So, what are you doing to get your car ready for the winter? If you've already taken the steps to get tires that grip and batteries that last, you're in really good shape. A pre-winter oil change is another good thing to do. To everyone else who may think they'll be able to tough it out, you don't have to risk it! Bruneel Tire Factory can get your car in the best shape possible for the winter. Is your vehicle ready for Fall?

Do you smell that in the air? Football season has started, the weather is a little cooler, the leaves are getting a little orange color in them—yes, fall is here. What does that mean for you, and more specifically, what does it mean for your car? If you've been putting off regularly scheduled vehicle maintenance, now is the time to do so. You don't want to be out there stranded when the snow starts to fall, so take this time in the fall season to get your car ready for the change in the seasons. Just as you normally take the spring season to get ready for summer, now is the time, in the fall, to get ready for winter.

The routine maintenance on your car, such as oil changes, should be something you have done on a regular basis anyway, but some people put it off during the summer because they'd rather be on the road enjoying themselves. That's fine and dandy, but as winter approaches, the thought should change to getting through semi-plowed streets. Changing the tires is something that people normally do in the fall. Switching out to those winter tires for extra grip is a good idea, as well as replacing tires that may have worn out on the hot summer streets. Winterizing your car should be a fall ritual, because no one wants to be stranded when the white stuff starts falling. Taking care of that vehicle maintenance now will save you headaches later on.

The autumn is typically a good time to go off-roading or do some hunting. To that end, just in time for the upcoming hunting season, Bruneel Tire Factory has a special just for you. Choose three flushes for just $275 from amongst these types of flushes: Transmission fluid, brake fluid, fuel injection, radiator, or power steering. Also for $275, we'll service the drive train on your 4WD vehicle. The fall and winter are the prime seasons for 4 wheel drive vehicles, so now is the time to prepare for the next six months of rough weather by getting the proper vehicle maintenance.

The old adage goes that if you take care of your car, it'll take care of you. Well, if you take the time now to get the vehicle maintenance your car needs, it'll take care of you all winter long. Idaho winters can get rather cold, but they can be even colder if you have to wait at the corner for the bus every day. Bruneel Tire Factory can make sure that doesn't happen to you. Stop by and get the service your car needs to prepare for the fall and winter seasons.

Would you like a FREE Oil change?

Anyone who has run out of oil on a lonely country road knows how frustrating and potentially damaging it can be, and in fact missing oil changes when they are due is a common cause of car trouble. Because so many aspects of a vehicle’s engine rely on oil to function properly, not changing your oil can lead to a huge number of different automotive problems. Here, we’ll take a brief look at how you can prevent many car problems by keeping your oil changed regularly, as well as how a regular oil change can save you a significant amount of money

Part of the reason regular oil changes are so important is that some of the most important aspects of a vehicle rely heavily on oil. The engine itself, as well as the transmission (which make up the two most crucial parts of any automobile), need lots of oil to operate, and having an insufficient amount or allowing oil to become too old can cause catastrophic failure in these areas. The reason many people allow this to happen is that they simply do not know when they should get an oil change, especially because different types of oil need to be changed at different times.

The two most common types of oil are natural and synthetic, and each has a few key differences. Synthetic oil tends to last longer and provides slightly better performance, but is significantly more expensive in most cases. Keep in mind that even oils within the same class are different from one another, so carefully reading the description of a product you use and even keeping the packaging so that you can refer back to it (or get the information from the Bruneel mechanic you use) is a good idea. Your mechanic can also help you determine when an oil change will be necessary.

Getting an oil change fairly regularly is one of the best types of preventative maintenance you can do, and even changing your oil slightly before the due date can help prevent a number of car problems. Having your oil changed regularly can keep your car running smoothly and help keep your transmission and engine in good condition. Keep in mind that if you join our Facebook page, you are eligible to win a free oil change. These free oil changes are given out on a monthly basis, so your chances to win reset each month.

The Importance of Getting Your Oil Changed

It is absolutely necessary to get your oil changed on a regular basis to make sure your car remains in good working condition over time. The normal recommended interval between oil changes is every 3,000 miles for standard motor oil and every 6,000 miles for synthetic oil. Putting off an oil change is one of the worst things you can do, in part because of the wide array of benefits by putting clean oil in your car. To begin with, it improves engine performance, extends engine life, as well as improves the car’s gas mileage. You can change the oil yourself or you can take it to a car maintenance facility and they can do it for you.

One of the first major benefits you’ll experience from an oil change on a regular basis is a slight increase in gas mileage. As oil ages in your car, it begins to break down. As it breaks down, it creates friction between the moving parts of your engine. As friction increases, so does the heat produced. Mixing heat and friction will burn more gas, which in turn will decrease the number of miles your car gets per gallon of gas. This will cost you more in the long run because you’ll have to go to the gas station to fill up more often.

The car only goes as far as the engine does, so if you want to extend engine life, a regularly scheduled oil change is the most inexpensive course of action. How your engine performs depends largely on the type of oil you put into it. If the engine is considered the heart of an automobile, then the oil is the blood. The engine will run cleaner and more efficiently. A cleaner engine runs much better than a dirty one can.

If you regularly put synthetic oil in your car during an oil change, the main advantage over traditional oil is that synthetic oil goes longer without having to be changed; normally, the recommended time lapse between each synthetic oil change is about 6,000 miles. In short, oil changes are absolutely necessary for the long term health of your car. No one wants their cars to break down at the most inopportune time, so remember to get the oil changed. An oil change can help your car continue to run as well as it possibly can, while also improving gas mileage and increasing horsepower.

Preventive Car Maintenance – Regular Maintenance Prevents Expensive Repairs

Preventing car damage and repairs should be every car owner’s number one priority. Cars are the primary method of transportation for many families. Many people count on a working vehicle to take them to and from work. Keeping a car in good condition requires a few simple services done on a regular maintenance schedule. Not only do these services keep key components running smoothly, but they also help prevent expensive repairs and even potential accidents.

Changing your oil is one of the most basic things you can do to prevent damage to your engine. Motor oil is responsible for lubricating, cleaning, cooling, and protecting the engine of the car. As you drive, moisture accumulates in the engine. Unless you spend a lot of time driving on the freeway, chances are that moisture never has a chance to boil off, leading to an accumulation of sludge, acid, and fluid. You can probably imagine the damage that acid buildup can do to your engine if you do not change your oil – it is not pretty. How often a car will need oil changes depends on the vehicle. Most manufacturers recommend changing the oil every 3,000 to 7,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. Some diesel engines may need their oil changed more often. If there is any doubt, consult your owners manual.

A transmission flush, brake flush, radiator flush or power steering flush might be necessary from time to time as well. Transmission fluid keeps the transmission well lubricated and running smoothly; a flush, while not strictly necessary, can prevent transmission failure. Flush transmission fluid every 30,000 to 50,000 miles. Brake fluid should be flushed roughly every two years. As you drive, brake fluid absorbs moisture. This causes the boiling point to lower over time and makes your brakes lose power. Your radiator will become clogged over time and should be flushed twice a year so that it can keep your car cool. Finally, you might consider a power steering flush to keep your power steering system lubricated. This should be performed around the same time you change your coolant.

Also, a fuel injector service can improve engine performance and reduce “carbon knocks.” Basically, when you request a fuel injection service you can expect to have your fuel injector, rails, and even the fuel tank cleaned out. This removes carbon deposits that build up around the fuel injector. Although it can greatly improve horsepower, fuel efficiency, and performance, whether or not a fuel injector service is worth the cost depends on the condition of your car and the quality of the gas you use. However, as part of your car’s preventive maintenance regimen, fuel injector services can keep your car running smoothly. Contact Bruneel Tire Factory today for your preventative maintenance needs.
